About BMW:
German automaker. Founded as an aircraft engine manufacturer in 1916, the company assumed the name Bayerische Motoren Werke and became known for its high-speed motorcycles in the 1920s. During World War II, BMW built the world's first jet airplane engines for the Luftwaffe. It suffered financially in the postwar period but recovered after 1959 with a new line of conventionally designed high-performance cars. The company's turnaround was also credited to German entrepreneur Herbert Quandt, who purchased a controlling share of BMW's stock in 1959. In the 21st century the firm's brands included BMW cars and motorcycles, MINI automobiles, and Rolls-Royce. Members of the Quandt family continued to hold a significant stake in the company.
BMW History:
Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (BFW) is founded on 7th March 1916 and incorporates Otto Werke. BMW acquires the BFW plant in 1922, but Bayerische Motoren Werke continues to date its foundation from the founding of BFW.
On 21st July 1917, Rapp-Motorenwerke is renamed Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH. The ongoing war means that the small company grows quickly. With expansion in mind, the firm builds a spacious plant right next to the Oberwiesenfeld airfield in Munich and continues to build engines for army planes until 1918. BMW buys the Eisenach automobile plant, where the Austin Seven was successfully produced under the name "Dixi 3/15 PS". This vehicle is developed further, going on sale in 1929 as the BMW 3/15 PS DA 2 with a range of different body shells. A small car with a lot of appeal, its popularity helps the company to survive the lean years of the Depression.
BMW Logo: The BMW logo is symbolic of a white propeller blade, against a blue sky. It reflects the origins of BMW as a maker of military aircraft engines during the first world war. It is a good example of a strong brand-led company retaining the best of its heritage in the form a of distinctive logo design, without placing too much emphasis on the origins of the logo itself.
In the 328 Roadster, BMW produced a car which became a legend of sports car and racing history. Nominated for Car of the Century in 1999.
1962-1964 Compact, stylish and sporty, the 1500 four-door sedan was the foundation for the New Class.
1968-1972 The second series 1800 had blacked-out grilles, improved dual-circuit brakes, rectangular headlights and a revised instrument panel.
1963-1968 Introduced in the Fall of 1963, the 1800 had a bored and stroked 1500 engine producing 90 hp.
1968-1975 - The ultimate sports sedan began life as a 1600 with a 2-liter, single carb, four-cylinder engine.

5 series

Introduced in 1975, the E21 or "forgotten BMW" was the successor to the 2002.

The E34 was the successor to the E28.
Introduced in June 1981, the E28 was the successor to the E12 series. The new vehicle was similar to the popular E12 but was lower, had more engine choices, and minor styling updates.
The E12 includes the models 518, 520i, 525, 528i, 530i, and M535i. It was with this model in 1979 that BMW formally introduced the "M" car.
6 & 8 series
New BMW 6 series 2004
Introduced in 1990, the E31 8 series was BMW's product for the luxury sport coupe market. The series was discontinued in 1999 in most countries.
The E24 6 Series was the first of BMW's luxury sports coupes.
7 series
The 7 Series E38 is BMW's luxury line of automobiles.
The E32 was introduced in late 1987 with a 730i and 735i using the M30 six cylinder engine.
Produced for 10 years, the E23 was the first of the modern, big BMW luxury sedans.
X Trucks
The M1 was the first car produced by BMW Motorsport. Originally released in 1978, the M1 experienced production and homologation problems that kept it from international competition until the car was no longer competitive. First shown at the Paris Motor Show, the M1 was discontinued in 1981.
Z cars
Introduced at the 1987 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Z1 is the original Z roadster.

2.I currently own a 1999(facelift) Bmw 728ise which has to date covered over 210k miles(full history,mainy by Bmw).It is in biarritz blue with soft sand beige leather.I got my car about 15 months ago(my 9th one since 1995)and i totally love it to bits.This one is very special and by far the best 7 i have owned.To start of it is has had only 1 owner prior to myself and has been looked after extremely well,and that has continued throughout my ownership.the
